Teaching, Learning, and Leading with an Antiracist Purpose
At Castilleja we are seeking to address racism and racialization with honesty, courage, and clarity of conviction, ensuring that teaching and learning of antiracism engenders sustainable change. As we progress in our antiracist practice, it is important for us as a community to recognize that this transformative work produces a necessary tension that can often feel destabilizing. Please keep reading to learn more about our Diversity and Inclusion Statement and our Antiracist Programming.
Antiracism Competencies
In the summer of 2020, we deepened our commitment to becoming a more just and equitable community by creating a thoughtful framework for Teaching and Learning Antiracism at Castilleja. Building from the Leadership Competencies already embedded in our curriculum, we defined five Antiracism Competencies. Our shared work to address systemic and institutionalized racism will rely on students and employees honing these skills to inspire needed change throughout all aspects of campus life and beyond.
